Fiat 500L transmissions
The 500L’s automatic is a six-speed dual-dry-clutch unit built by Fiat Powertrain, not a conventional torque-converter automatic. Early units were subject to a real recall over gear shift module and software issues, and clutch actuator wear is a common complaint as these cars age. A tested used unit from a lower-mileage donor is usually the more sensible fix than a rebuild.
Fiat 124 Spider body and interior parts
The 124 Spider was built by Mazda in Hiroshima alongside the MX-5 Miata, and the two share their platform, roof mechanism, and a number of interior and exterior parts. Where they differ is the engine. The 124 runs Fiat’s own 1.4-liter MultiAir turbo, not Mazda’s engine, so drivetrain parts need to come from a Fiat donor specifically.
